Amneek Sandhu was born on November 18, in New Delhi but has called New York her home since childhood. She graduated from St. Johns University with a major in Communication Arts and a minor in Theatre; she also studied at the T. Schreiber studio under Pamela Scott. She has been studying acting since the tender age of five.  Amneek was discovered in 1998 at the Miss Asia International, where she was awarded 2nd runner up representing India. She has been modeling since she was 16 years old and has shot commercials for numerous South Asian companies including Shaadi.com, Liberty Shoes, Malanie Jewelers, Satyam Online, Bazzi.com. and Netflix Since 2000, Amneek has been the prime co-host for various Sony television shows covering national events, parades and Bollywood awards. Amneek made her first appearance as an actress, playing a supporting role in a Bollywood movie called Ketha Hai Dil Baar Baar, which was released in India in 2002. Soon after, she landed several film projects among the likes of big Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla. In 2004, Just Indian was released. Amneek played the role of Sonia Sharma, a young woman raised in India that struggles with the fast-paced culture at Columbia University in New York City. In 2005, Amneek was featured in Political Asylum (Des hoyaa Pardes), alongside Gurdas Maan and Juhi Chawla. In 2006 her releases include Shaadi Karke Phase Gaya Yaar featuring Salman Kahn and Shilpa Shetty. she will also been seen in the upcoming feature Knots Urbane. Amneek is currently working on feature film Excatly the same but Totally different.
